Where does the water come from?

The water system for Crumbacher Estates consists of two wells that deliver water throughout the development. During the irrigating season, which runs from April 1st to October 1st, a large 50 horsepower turbine pump provides the necessary pressure, which must be maintained by state law at a minimum of 20 psi. Typically, our system is capable of maintaining 35 to 40 psi.

During the winter, when irrigation water is not placing additional demands on the system, a 30,000 gallon reservoir provides the necessary pressure for the system, along with two smaller 10 horsepower pumps. This allows for a substantial savings in electricity costs, but also requires that the system be chlorinated to prevent bacterial growth in the reservoir.
